Benz Bavarian Duffield – PSL team

End of an Era

Following Felix Frixou’s decision to step-down as team manager and main sponsor of Benz Bavarian Duffield and in the absence of a successor, Duffield will not be fielding a team in the Premier Squash League next season.
Amongst several reasons behind Felix’s decision, he referred to diminishing support and his wish to devote more time to his Titan charity.
So ends many years of the Duffield Squash Club’s participation initially in the National League under the manager-ship of Brian Hargrave and in the successor Premier Squash league.
Duffield Squash Club would wish to record its sincere thanks to all who have been involved in the National League/PSL on its behalf, from the managers and the enormous amount of time they devoted in running the team and organising sponsorship, all the players who have represented the Club over the years, to all our sponsors without whose support this venture would not have occurred, to markers and referees and to all Club members, whether assisting with the running/organisation of home matches and/or supporting the team.
The combination of all such input has contributed to the local availability of squash at the highest level, to numerous hugely exciting and entertaining matches, which will be greatly missed by many and of course to five championship PSL titles.
In addition, it has enhanced the Club’s reputation as a venue to which both opposing teams and supporters have very much enjoyed visiting for the warmth and friendliness of their reception and the food.
